thx redpilltwice..... I loved the story of James Penton, a person who stood up for "higher morals" over "Pharasaic rules"....

In regards to the 'DFing', I was wondering about Ralph Candelario, as the expert called in (James Penton) was asked about JW policies, and after reading the links Barbara provided, I see that Ralph did have previous wives, and the JW attitude about divorce would not allow him to remarry / be free for marriage, unless his spouse died or commited adultery.

Ralph's lawyer tried to argue that since Ralph had remarried before (even though he could not prove his wife had died, only disappeared) and had 'regained' his 'approved' status in the congregation (DF'd/ reinstated) killing his wife, Pamela, to remarry was no motive... BECAUSE, if he did get DF'd..... he could get 'reinstated'.... just like last time.

The intertwinings of a JW mind can be very complicated, and really, only a person who has been one (James Penton) can really explain the way the WT puts pressure on people in deep and insidious ways .

It is very interesting that the Prosecutor called in a person (exJW) to testify about JW culture, and procedures regarding disfellowshipping...... Was this man DF'd before?

It says the jury 'paid rapt attention to his answers'! Just as the iron curtain of Russia eventually crumbled, maybe the world will be able to see behind the curtain of JW.BORG!

It is quite sad to hear this, I feel so sorry for you. We have had the same thing happen to us, tho not to that extent. A brother did not fulfill his contract, delivered nothing, and we lost quite a bit of money.

Did we go to court? no.... I really wish we had.

What that man said to you was quite pitiful, turning it back on you each time, "Now, how do you think Jehovah feels about you?" He sounds just like the WT, "Why did you believe in 1975?"

I am so glad that you stuck to your guns, and realized that taking "your brother" (is he really a 'brother' when he slanders, robs, etc) to court. Quite relieved, actually...

Morals and scriptures mean nothing when the good person gets robbed.

Thank you for sharing, I am glad the WT is having to pay for it's errors, and their warped way of dealing with people is getting exposed.

hello to everyone.. i hope you are all well and sorting things out between yourselves.

i have temporary internet access which is probably a good thing for now.

i have been contacted by the arc in a respectful and loving manner today.

because you, and other brave abuse victims, went before ARC.... it feels like a tsunami has began.... the wave starts way out at sea, and gathers force as it approaches the land.... it becomes powerful.

Power is what it will take to do anything to WTBS. Weakening it's ranks is what WT hates... piece by piece, isn't that how the Berlin wall was taken down? Elders, MS, wives, kids have all been affected and moved by what they saw and heard at the Royal Commission hearings.

Perhaps people did not really take the time to think about how much this effects a person, how it changes their lives. Thank you for being a part of the picture that makes things real, does not allow for 'excuses' to continue. Thank you for making people face the cruelty abusers and WT (like a cherry on top) makes you live with.

The cute phrases of "Jehovah will make things better" and "they won't remember it in the new order" or my most hated phrase, "we don't want to bring reproach on Jehovah's name or organization" are like cuts and swords to the heart of someone who has been abused.

Went for my first legal session today.

Strange people you have studied WT and Bible with.

when i look back into era when i conducted bible studies i recall several nice people, but also weird and strange.

my last bible study was with couple who were the new capitalists; people who earned a lot of money often by illegal means.

i am sure they were dangerous, but i have not perceived that way.

sometimes i wondered if it was due to coaching, in particular when the questioning put a person in a tight spot.
